Τι σημαίνει: Η ΜΝΗΜΗ ΤΟΥ ΧΡΥΣΟΨΑΡΟΥ  Παύλος

Πολλοί νομίζουν πως η μνήμη στα
χρυσόψαρα διαρκεί μόνο 3 δευτερόλεπτα. Αυτό όμως είναι μύθος: σύμφωνα με
κάποιες επιστημονικές έρευνες, τα συμπαθή ψάρια θυμούνται γεγονότα ακόμη και
για ένα διάστημα σχεδόν 2 εβδομάδων. Άλλες έρευνες τους δίνουν πολύ μεγαλύτερη
μνημονική ικανότητα, διάρκειας τριών, ακόμα και πέντε μηνών. Εάν σκεφτεί κανείς πως τα
χρυσόψαρα ζουν μόνο 5-10 χρόνια, είναι προφανές πως αυτά τα όμορφα ψαράκια
έχουν, κατ’ αναλογίαν, μεγαλύτερη μνήμη από τους ανθρώπους, και ειδικά τους Έλληνες. Οι Έλληνες λοιπόν, στις εκλογές του Μαΐου, απέδειξαν περίτρανα πως
ξέχασαν τα πάντα, όλα τα δεινά που τους επιδαψίλευσε η κυβέρνηση Μητσοτάκη.
Ξέχασαν τους 37 χιλιάδες νεκρούς από την πανδημία του κορονοϊού, που θα ήταν
ασφαλώς λιγότεροι εάν η κυβέρνηση της Νέας Δημοκρατίας δεν ξήλωνε το ΕΣΥ προς
όφελος των κλινικαρχών, ξέχασαν τη νόμιμη ληστεία του εισοδήματός τους μέσω
των έμμεσων φόρων σε τρόφιμα και καύσιμα, την κατακόρυφη πτώση του βιοτικού
τους επιπέδου, ξέχασαν τη γιγαντιαία αναδιανομή του δημόσιου πλούτου προς
όφελος των εταιρειών ενέργειας και του μεγάλου κεφαλαίου γενικότερα, την
ιδιωτικοποίηση της ΔΕΗ, τους εξωπραγματικούς μισθούς των γκόλντεν μπόις, τα
δυσώδη οικονομικά σκάνδαλα των γαλάζιων κολλητών, τη βαθιά σήψη της πολιτικής
εξουσίας, ξέχασαν τα πετσωμένα ΜΜΕ, τις τηλεφωνικές υποκλοπές, ξέχασαν τις
εκατοντάδες χιλιάδες των πλειστηριασμών πρώτης κατοικίας, την εκτόξευση του
δημόσιου χρέους, την άγρια αστυνομική καταστολή και τις εκτελέσεις εν ψυχρώ
των Ρομά, ξέχασαν τους νεκρούς των Τεμπών. Οι Έλληνες απέδειξαν πως έχουν δυσανεξία προς την αλήθεια. Και αυτό είναι λογικό, ως αμνήμονες. Άλλωστε η αλήθεια, δηλαδή καθετί που συμφωνεί προς τα γεγονότα, προς την πραγματικότητα, αυτό που όντως συνέβη, ή συμβαίνει, ή είναι απολύτως βέβαιο ότι θα συμβεί, ετυμολογείται από το επίθετο «αληθής», που κι αυτό προέρχεται από το στερητικό «α» και το «λήθος», που είναι η λησμονιά. Το επίθετο «αληθής» αρχικά θα προσδιόριζε γεγονότα ή πράγματα που δεν είναι δυνατόν να λησμονηθούν ή να αποκρυβούν, σύμφωνα με το Λεξικό της Νέας Ελληνικής Γλώσσας. Ο αληθής είναι ο φανερός, ο ελέγξιμος, ο αψευδής, και η αλήθεια είναι η κατάσταση κατά την οποία τα πράγματα δεν έχουν ξεχαστεί.... Οι Έλληνες όμως ξεχνούν, άρα δεν θέλουν την αλήθεια. Αποστρέφουν το
πρόσωπό τους από τη μιζέρια τους, εθελοτυφλούν, επιλέγουν τα βολικά ψέματα
από τις ανησυχητικές αλήθειες, αδρανοποιούν τη μνήμη τους. Μνήμη, λέει το
Λεξικό, είναι η ικανότητα του νου να συγκρατεί γεγονότα, παραστάσεις,
προηγούμενες εμπειρίες, και να τα ανακαλεί με το κατάλληλο ερέθισμα. Η λέξη
παράγεται από το «μιμνήσκω», δηλαδή «θυμίζω», με καταγωγή από το
ινδοευρωπαϊκό «*men-», που σημαίνει «σκέπτομαι». Ομόρριζο με τη μνήμη είναι
το ρήμα «μανθάνω», καθώς κι η «μάθηση», η απόκτηση γνώσεων, η παιδεία... Όταν όμως οι Έλληνες όχι απλώς δεν τιμώρησαν τη Νέα Δημοκρατία για όλα τα
εγκλήματα που διέπραξε εις βάρος τους ως κυβέρνηση, παρά την επιβράβευσαν
κιόλας, δίνοντάς της μεγαλύτερο ποσοστό από αυτό που είχε λάβει στις
προηγούμενες εκλογές (40,79% από 39,85%), όταν ανέδειξαν τον Κώστα Αχ.
Καραμανλή, τον υπουργό της Τραγωδίας, πρώτο βουλευτή Σερρών με 24.651 ψήφους,
ε, τότε είναι ολοφάνερο πως ο ελληνικός λαός γενικά δεν εκτιμά ούτε την
αλήθεια ή τη μνήμη, ούτε τη σκέψη ή την παιδεία. Συνεπώς, μακάρι να είχαμε τη μνήμη του χρυσόψαρου. Της Αρνης το νερό

THE MEMORY OF A GUPPY (What does it

Vassilis C. Militsis Many people contend the guppies’ memory lasts only three seconds. However, this is only a myth. According to certain scientific researches, these lovely fish can remember events even for a time of almost two weeks. More researches allow a far longer memory capacity from three to five months even. If we think that guppies live only from five to ten years, it is obvious that these cute little fish have a memory, mutatis mutandis, longer than some humans do, particularly the Greeks. The Greeks, consequently, at the May 23 elections, have blatantly proved that they have forgotten everything without exception: all the suffering that the Mitsotakis administration has showered upon them. They have forgotten the 37,000 dead, victims of the Covid pandemic. These casualties would have certainly been fewer had not the New Democracy administration dismantled the National Health System for the benefit of the private hospital owners; they have forgotten the allegedly legal thievery of their income through indirect taxation on foodstuffs and fuel; the plumb decline of the living standard; they have forgotten the huge redistribution of public wealth for the benefit of energy companies and of the big capitalists in general; the privatization of the National Energy Company, the extravagant salaries of its golden boys, the fetid financial scandals perpetrated by the ‘blue’ chums, the deep political corruption; they have forgotten the biased mass media, the cell phone taps of the citizen’s privacy; they have forgotten the hundreds of thousands of primary residences auctions, the soaring public debt, the savage unnecessary law enforcement by the police and their shooting of Roma in cold blood. They have also forgotten the dead at the tragic rail accident at Tempi. The Greeks
have manifestly proved that they have intolerance to truth, which makes them
be forgetful. Besides, the term ‘truth’ [alêthêia in Greek], i.e. all that is
in accordance with events – what agrees with reality, what has actually transpired
or transpires or it is absolutely certain it will – derives from the
adjective ‘alêthês’ [truthful], which in turn originates from the negative
prefix ‘a’ and ‘lêthê’ which means forgetfulness or oblivion [a+lêthê-ia=no
oblivion]. According to the The Dictionary of the Modern Greek Language the
adjective ‘alêthês’ originally defined events or things that are impossible
to forget or conceal; therefore, a truthful person is crystal clear,
controllable, and cannot lie; and ‘truth’ is the situation in which things
cannot be forgotten. And yet, Greek
people forget. Therefore, they despise truth. They are loathe to confront their
misery, they turn a blind eye in front of reality, they conveniently opt for
lies instead of disturbing truths, thus disabling their memories. According
to the Dictionary, memory is the capacity of the mind to maintain facts,
events, images, previous experiences, and to recall them at the appropriate
stimulus. The term ‘memory’ [mnêmê in Greek] derives from the verb [mimnêskô=
remember] and originally from indoeuropean [*men=think]. Moreover, the verb
[manthanô=learn], which points to the acquisition of knowledge and education,
is of the same root. When, however,
the Greek people not only did not punish the administration of the New
Democracy party for all its crimes perpetrated at their expense, but they
also rewarded this party, awarding it with the greatest percentage this party
had received at the 2019 elections: (40.79% from 39.85%). When the people granted Kostas Ach. Karamanlis,
the former Tempi Tragedy Minister 24,651 votes, it
is as clear as day that in general the Greek people appreciates neither truth
